Studio Theatre is a community theatrical company staging a wide range of serious plays, comedy entertainment and musical productions in Ilfracombe and throughout North Devon. We are currently applying for charitable status. Please browse our web site for details of our current, future and past productions.

Studio Theatre's 2008 North Devon touring production of The HeiressThe Heiress - May 2008

Studio Theatre will be touring North Devon with its latest production of The Heiress, based on the novel 'Washington Square by Henry James and dramatised by Ruth and Augustus Goetz.

Performances will be staged at:

  • Wednesday 7th May - Pilton Church Hall
  • Thursday 8th May - Woolacombe Village Hall
  • Friday 9th May - Berrynarbor Manor Hall
  • Saturday 10th May - St Philip & St James Church Centre, Ilfracombe

Tickets are £6 (concessions £5) available on the door.

All performances start at 8.00 pm.

This production is directed by Paula Morante, who for many years was wardrobe mistress to the Royal Ballet on tour throughout Britain, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. No stranger to the touring scene, the costumes in this production recreate the elegance of the play's Victorian setting.

Studio Theatre AGM on Thursday, 22nd May 2008

Our 2008 AGM is being held at 7.30 pm on Thursday, 22nd May 2008 at the Salvation Army Hall in Ilfracombe. All existing and new members are welcome.


Summer season 2008

Details of our extensive summer season, comprising three shows and 11 performances, have been announced. Studio Theatre will be performing Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, our 1940s variety show When You're Smiling and our popular Musical Magic show at the Landmark Theatre, Landmark Pavilion and at other venues throughout Ilfracombe and North Devon. More details and cast photos will be added shortly.


November 2007 production: Twelfth Night

Studio Theatre stage Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, directed by Jay Moore, in November 2007 at Ilfracombe Arts College and Pip & Jim's Church Centre in Ilfracombe; at North Devon College and West Buckland School in Barnstaple; and at Woolacombe Village Hall. Visit our Twelfth Night page for details.

Studio Theatre in Ilfracombe, North Devon, stages a full programme of dramatic productions each year, ranging from serious drama to comedies and musicals, in the Landmark Theatre and Pavilion and at other local venues.
