Studio Theatre shakes up the Landmark
Theatre with John Godber’s Shakers

Studio Theatre kicked off its four-week stint of 2007 summer Sundays at the Landmark Theatre with two performances of Shakers by John Godber and Jane Thornton on Sundays 29th July and 5th August.
Waitressing onto the stage The all-female cast, comprising Julie Moore, Christine Roberts, Su Scott-Goldstone and Elena Wright, waitressed on to the Landmark stage to take a wickedly funny look at the world of four long-suffering cocktail waitresses and their hilarious view of reality lurking beneath the plastic palms and pina coladas of a typical cocktail bar. John Godber is reputedly the second most performed living English playwright and, after Shakespeare and Ayckbourn, the third most often performed of all time. Shakers, which contains strong language and is not suitable for children, is one of his most popular plays and is one of three productions directed at the Landmark this summer by Lee Baxendale.
